How to level up your quarantine snack game... Mexican Candy

Looking for your favorite Mexican candy with no luck? Well, we have you covered. Catch up with old favorites and discover exciting, new additions to your regular line up. 

10. Vero Rellerindo

A classic Mexican candy, Vero Rellerindo is not too spicy, sour, tamarindo flavored candy with a rich, gooey center. They are addicting and delicious!
If adding to candy goody bags, this will be the favorite. 😍
Warning: These sour candies may last 5 minutes plus so be prepared for the ride! You can also simply break them in half and enjoy one half at a time.
Tip: These are perfect for piñatas 🎁.

 

9. San Pablo Mini Cajeta Obleas

An authentic Mexican treat, these mini goat milk wafers pair great with a large scoop of Mexican Vanilla ice cream topped off with rich cajeta sauce, chopped pecans and covered in decadent whipped cream with a Maraschino cherry on top.
You can also simply grab one from the pantry and enjoy as a tiny dessert or appetizer.
Tip to remember: Keep these little gems in a cool and dry place to ensure the integrity and flavor are at their best when you unwrap and enjoy them.  

8. Vero Pica Goma Strawberry

A favorite Mexican candy, Vero Pica Goma Fresa delivers a zing with every piece! The combination of strawberry 🍓 and spice 🌶 really hits the spot.    
These addicting little balls of bliss won't last long so think twice before you share 😉
Tip: Popping these little Pica Fresa balls into a frozen cocktail or an ice-cold Sprite will enhance your drinking experience with a jolt of chili strawberry flavor!

7. Lucas Salsagheti Watermelon

One of those Mexican candies that keep calling your name, Lucas Salsagheti de Sandia, also known as skwinkles, are mouth-watering, soft, chewy, watermelon flavored strings lightly coated in mild chili peppers.  
Really awesome candy to add to fresh fruits 🍉along with chamoy and Tajin! It will blow your mind, you will never want to go back to eating fruits without Lucas Salsagheti!
A little extra tip: Each candy comes with a packet of the famous Lucas Gusano liquid hot candy!  How awesome is that?

 

 

6. Lucas Muecas Sandia

A much loved and popular Mexican Candy, Lucas Muecas is a sandia flavored lollipop that is salty, sweet, sour, and spicy all at once! It also comes with an abundance of sandia chili powder that is ready to satisfy your Mexican candy craving.

You'll want to preferably be at the kitchen table as it is a hands-on experience of sucking and dipping the lollipop in the chili powder container until you run out of chili or the lollipop disappears.
Helpful tip: With Lucas Muecas you can begin enjoying, realize you are late for class, pop the lid back on your candy, run to class, then open it right back up and delight in the tiny miracle you just experienced!

4. Marinela Gansito

A delightful Mexican snack, Marinela Gansito is the Mexican cousin of the Twinkie. Chocolate covered vanilla cake with strawberry and cream filling. If you haven't had these in a while, be ready for a magical surprise.
Great to have around the house. Expect little moments of joy every time you open the pantry. For a jaw-dropping experience, try them frozen with a glass of cold milk. 
P.S. First introduced in 1957, Gansito, Spanish for "little goose", is now a wonderful addition to Mexico's list of must-have snacks.

3. De La Rosa Mazapan

Mazapan is a disc-shaped delicious peanut-based treat. They are small and mighty sweet. They crumble easily so be sure to enjoy them on a plate or napkin. They carry the spirit of Mexico in 1 ounce, a truly blissful delight. Best if kept in a safe, dry spot as they do not travel well due to their fragile nature.
Helpful tip: Carefully unwrap and decorate on a plate with chocolate Kisses stacked on top. Serve as dessert and enjoy the triumph of the moment!
P.S. Mazapan is made of Marzipan, a confection consisting primarily of honey and almond meal. It is often made into sweets. Marzipan made its way to Europe from China, its country of origin. It was then brought to Mexico from Spain where it is known by its Spanish word Mazapan.

2. De La Rosa Pulparindo

A much loved and popular Mexican Candy, De La Rosa Pulparindo is a fruit leather tamarind candy that is salty, sweet, sour, and spicy all at once! They are great to have in your car or at the office as they are ideal pick-me-up snacks.

Helpful tip: The white powder on top of each candy is normal. No need to fear.

P.S. Tamarindo, the base of many Mexican treats is a fruit with a hard, brown shell and juicy, acidic pulpy inside that traces its roots to tropical Africa. In the 16th century, it was introduced to Mexico by Spanish colonists, to the degree that it became a staple ingredient in the region's cuisine. To this day, Tamarindo enriches our culture and brings joy to many.
